Happy New Year 2008!

It's time to ring in the New Year. T'is the time of year when many of us sing Auld Lang Syne and rethink how we are living. I hope that you have many fond memories from your travels through the year 2007. It's time to tip a cup of cheer and welcome in a new year of adventures. Let's put the trials and tribulations of last year behind us taking only with us the lessons we have learned and count our many blessings that we are so oft' to take for granted. This year my husband and I decided to simplify the holidays. We had a small, simple yet pretty tree. We didn't travel. And we didn't stress about the consumerism of the season. We gave small gifts to family and donated to charity. We sought to find that illusive true meaning of Christmas. For me that is seeing the joy in small things and the wonderment that is found in the rebirth of each new day. I do have resolutions and goals for the New Year. Some of the same as many years before, lose some fat and organize, organize, organize. My theme for this year is to simplify life whereever possible. We are planning to downsize and move from the suburbs to a urban loft so we will be going through all the acculmulations of the 16 years of this house. There is much sentiment in this and yet I have become much aware of the burden that all the things of the past weigh upon my mind and my spirit. It is a New Year and a time to renew. Take joy in simplicity. Be thankful in kindness and learn what "sustainable" living means in personal way. All the best to you in 2008 from Our Friendly Earth! Buzz it up
