Human Footprint on NatGeo Channel April 13th

National Geographic TV will air a monumental production on Sunday, April 13th, Human Footprint. Everything you eat. Everything you drink. Everything you use. Your life's consumption. In one place at one time.

It will be aired April 13th, 9 PM Eastern/Pacific, 8 PM Central for all my fellow Kansans. And even though their tag line says "one time" the show will be re-aired Monday, April 14, at 12:00 AM and Sunday, April 20, 4:00 PM. (The video states different air times. The listed days and times were taken from the NatGeo website).

Try this interactive module to see how big your own footprint is: Human Footprint Interactive.

The amount of items used to illustrate the point of Human Footprint is overwhelming. If you view the "behind the scenes" links on the interactive consumption module, you will learn how they prevented as much waste as possible from the production. The only item I cringed about was the thousands of eggs they dropped. Maybe they could have found a giant griddle and made a omelet to feed a city.

Buzz it up
